What laughter actually does to your health?

Laughter reduces levels of certain stress hormones. In doing this, laughter provides a safety valve that shuts off the flow of stress hormones and the fight-or-flight compounds that swing into action in our bodies when we experience stress, anger or hostility. These stress hormones suppress the immune system, increase the number of blood platelets (which can cause obstructions in arteries) and raise blood pressure. When we’re laughing, natural killer cells that destroy tumors and viruses increase, as do Gamma-interferon (a disease-fighting protein), T-cells, which are a major part of the immune response, and B-cells, which make disease-destroying antibodies. It leads to hiccupping and coughing, which helps to clear the respiratory tracts. It increases the concentration of salivary immunogluobin A. Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use.

Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert.

He who laugh’s, lasts.”

Yes, it might be difficult at once for you to shed off unhealthy living and ease the pressurized nerves of your brains by laughing. But there are many ways to overcome this obstacle by not laughing alone! You can join laughter group. Shared laughter is one of the most effective tools for keeping relationships fresh and exciting. All emotional sharing builds strong and lasting relationship bonds, but sharing laughter and play also adds joy, vitality, and resilience. And humor is a powerful and effective way to heal resentments, disagreements, and hurts. It might give you a fresh beginning, and lead you towards healthy lifestyle.

Laughing will not only make you emotionally strong and release psychological problems but also make you healthy as your muscle strains and nerves of the brains get a relaxation. It reduces the level of heart diseases, diabetes, arthritis and various allergies.  Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain.

Laughing is not just limited to the laughing clubs or having significance in our life style but also has become a part of yoga- Laughter yoga (Hasyayoga)! Is a therapy which involves in voluntary laughing. Hasyayoga improves the physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.

Laughter yoga sessions start with gentle warm-up techniques which include stretching, chanting, clapping and body movement. These help break down inhibitions and develop feelings of ‘childlike playfulness’. Breathing exercises are used to prepare the lungs for laughter, followed by a series of ‘laughter exercises’ that combine the method of acting and visualization techniques with playfulness. These exercises, when combined with the strong social dynamics of group behavior, lead to prolong and hearty unconditional laughter. Laughter exercises are interspersed with breathing exercises. Twenty minutes of laughter is sufficient to develop full physiological benefits.

A Laughter Yoga session may finish with “Laughter Meditation.” This is a session of unstructured laughter whereby participants sit or lie down and allow natural laughter to flow from within like a fountain. This is a powerful experience that often leads to a healthy emotional catharsis and also a feeling of release and joyfulness that can last for days. This can be followed by guided relaxation exercises.

There might be question arising in your mind how to do it exactly.
